A project for Scenic Design. The goals of this class was to walk through the design process with a given script. We started with various types research, an analysis of the script, a scenic breakdown, and 3D and 2D sketches. Then, we created ground plan draftings, wall elevations, paint elevations, and a props list. The final aspect of this project is a white model. I was drawn to the haunted, heightened reality of this play. The characters leave a lot unsaid, but you can feel the weight of it in the room. I wanted this scenic design to reflect a room that has only had things added to it with the air of people ignoring the biggest truth: Big Daddy has cancer.
